Position Overview
The role is responsible for developing and executing HR strategies in support of the strategic direction of the organization. The role also leads HR initiatives and practices that provide an employee-oriented, high-performing culture. The position is based in the Las Vegas office and has one direct report.

Essential Job Functions
Strategic Leadership
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to create and execute HR strategies aligned with Galaxy’s goals and strategies
  • Lead management initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Supports the team by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions
  • Participates as an active member of the Executive Leadership Team, offering input on major strategic initiatives and projects for the company
Talent Management
  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, new hire orientation, training and talent retention strategies
  • Develop programs for employee engagement, leadership development, and succession planning
  • Work with department heads to forecast staffing needs
Employee Relations
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues
  • Promote a positive work environment and merit-based culture that supports diversity, inclusion, and employee satisfaction
  • Manage disciplinary procedures
Performance Management & Employee Development
  • Oversee employee development plans and ensure effectiveness
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on performance management and employee development
  • Identity training needs and implement effective training programs
Compensation and Benefits
  • Administer the compensation program
  • Ensure that employee benefits are competitive and designed to attract and retain talent
  • Lead benefits and retirement plan administration, including claims resolution, audits, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefits information to employees
HR Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international employment laws and regulations in all applicable states and jurisdictions
  • Maintain human resource information system records and compiles compliance reports from the database
  • Maintains company organization charts and employee directory
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best practices
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide guidance to the Company on measures to reduce or eliminate risk
  • Implement and manage the FMLA process
  • Oversee safety and worker’s compensation
  • Regularly updates and maintains the employee handbook and policies and procedures
HR Operations
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations
  • Prepare and manage the HR budget
  • Manage HR systems and ensure data integrity and security
  • Collaborates with Office Manager on internal communications, including employee events and activities
  • Securing local non-profits to set up quarterly volunteer events
  • Input all new hire and employee bi-weekly payroll changes
  • Oversee company events such as the annual holiday party, community events, and team training
  • Other projects assigned
Required Knowledge/Job Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Strong project management skills: plan and execute projects, establish priorities, manage a budget, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate innovation and creativity to assist in the execution of strategy to meet Company goals

  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM experience
  • FMLA experience
  • Must be flexible if needed for work outside of regular business hours
  • Must be able to obtain any gaming licenses required for the role
Education/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business management, or a related field of study preferred
  • Minimum of five years of HR experience, with at least three years in a leadership role
  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Must occasionally move about inside the office to access office machinery, etc.
  • May need to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally
